The first alumni meet of KVNo1, BBSR was held at the school on Sunday, the 18th of January, 2004. About 70 old students landed up. There was tremendous response from all batches. There were some who had passed out in 1979 and also some who had just finished with their schooling in 2003. We were expecting many more but probably some stayed back to watch India beat Australia.

The current principal, Mrs. R. Mishra and the teachers and staff were very enthusiastic and cooperative. The meet was held in the inside courtyard. We started with the morning prayer. The current students were there to prompt us with the words but most got into the rhythm pretty soon. The gathering was addressed by the principal and by some of the old teachers. We were appraised of the changes that had taken place in the school and the sangathan as a whole.

The gathering was then addressed by a number of ex-students. All agreed to make this a regular event. There was also talk of involving the forum in some other activities like instituting awards and scholarships and in some kind of ways, contributing to the development of the school.

We thank all the old teachers for taking their time out joining us and speaking to us. The list goes like, "N Sarangi Sir (Maths)", "Pandye Sir (Hindi)", "L N Panda Sir" (history), Acharya Madam, C B Das Madam, Sahoo Sir (Chem Lab), Pradhan Sir (Phy Lab), Samantray Sir (Boi Lab).
